Lake Hotel Egilsstaðir

The farm Egilsstaðir, is situated by the busiest crossroads in East Iceland. From the beginning the occupants of the farm had many visitors so it was no coincidence that a guesthouse opened there 1884, later to become “Gistihúsið - Lake Hotel Egilsstaðir”  

Gistihúsið – Lake Hotel Egilsstadir have a innovative and ambitious restaurant, Eldhúsið Restaurant. It offers Icelandic as well as international cuisine. The service is personal, cooking ingredients are fresh, local and always of the very best quality for each season.

We value the quality of ingredients. Most of it is Icelandic and grown locally. We are proud of our Icelandic agriculture and want to introduce those nearest to us by applying their products. The three course dinner from the farm is the kitchens pride.

Opening hours: The kitchen - Restaurant is open every day from 11:30 - 22:00. The bar is open until 01:00 every day.
